Pop N Cuts Demo at Stamp Camp
I'll be doing a demo at STAMP CAMP of the new Sizzix Pop N Cuts die cut system, created by licensed Sizzix designer Karen Burniston. See earlier blog entry for the class I took with her.
This innovative magnetic interchangeable system will have you whipping out pop-up cards in a fraction of the usual time. Pop 'n Cuts dies will fit in either a Big Shot or Vagabond die cutting machine. Pop 'n Cuts are easy, quick, interchangeable, expandable, coordinated and all fold exactly the same!
Here's three cards I "whipped out in a fraction of the usual time":
See below for more information on STAMP CAMP:
"Stamp Camp” will consist of: Space for your paper crafting and cardmaking, cardmaking classes, card challenges, lunch, snacks and prizes!!
What to Bring: Any project you want to work on and supplies needed to complete those projects, glass mat or hard service for stamping, die cut machines and other tools.
Table Space: You will have your choice of sharing an 8 foot table($25 per person or a 6 foot table ($30 per person) that would be great to paper craft on and hold your personal Rubber Rummage Sale!!
Classes: We will be offering 6 classes during the day. Each class costs $20 and you may sign up for them when you register. Class samples can be viewed on the blog @ www.allaboutpicturescr.blogspot.com.
Card Challenges: Each teacher will be putting together a card challenge. Try one or try them all!! They are meant to spark your creativity. Everyone will vote and the winner of each challenge will receive a prize!! Card challenges will be posted 2 weeks before the event on the blog.
Lunch: Will be served from 11:30 -1:30. Water will be available throughout the day and soda will be available for purchase.
Prizes: Will be awarded throughout the day! Stamps, Inks, paper and other stamper friendly prizes!!
Preregistration is required and tables are available on a first come first serve basis. Registration closes on July 31st. Call 319-364-4141 for more information.
Another class with KAREN BURNISTON
For the 2nd year in a row, I was able to take a class from Karen Burniston, a Sizzix licensed designer, who designs paper engineering dies - and I LOVE paper engineering. The class was at a stamp store near Chicago, which happens to be near my husband's college roommate, so it was easy to talk my husband into another trip to the Chicago area.
I was especially excited about this year's class with Karen, because I knew she'd be teaching us to make cards using her new Pop N Cuts dies. From the class description: "This innovative magnetic interchangeable system will have you whipping out pop-up cards in a fraction of the usual time. Pop 'n Cuts dies will fit in either a Big Shot or Vagabond die cutting machine. Pop 'n Cuts are easy, quick, interchangeable, expandable, coordinated and all fold exactly the same!"
The description didn't lie! These dies are to die for. They really are EASY to use; instead of spending your time meticulously cutting and adhering, you spend seconds using the die cut machine, seconds making a couple of easy folds and the rest of your time is spent decorating your card.
Here's two of the cards we made. I'll be doing a demo of this system on August 4th and a class on August 15th at All About Pictures, 364-4141. More information to come.
